Give your views on the future of local government in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Take part online.
People across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are being invited to share their views on the future of local government via a survey aimed to gather public feedback on what matters most to local people and organisations, to help shape new authorities’ priorities. Anyone with an interest in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, from residents to businesses, can complete the survey and share their views.
The six-week survey is being led jointly by all nine councils in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and is open until 11pm on Sunday 14 September 2025.
At this stage, no final decision has been made by all Councils on a single option, and the views of people shared in this survey will be submitted to government in November 2025 and will feed into the development of final proposals. Government will then review proposals, and the survey results, before making a final decision on the LGR option for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – as well as for 20 other council areas across England undergoing the same LGR process – in the Summer of 2026. A timeline on LGR is available on the government website.
There is a single approach to engagement across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to ensure we capture a consistent and representative view on what is the biggest shake-up of local government in over 50 years. We want to understand what matters most to people and ensure that any future changes reflect the needs and priorities of our communities.
Before completing the survey, it is important to spend some time reading the information on this website which will help provide you with all the information you may need to know. The FAQs will be particularly helpful.
